Frequently Asked Questions About Consulting

Why hire a consultant?

Expertise - When you need additional or specialized expertise to help with major projects, issues or conflicts, a consultant can step in immediately.

Staffing Solutions - You don’t have the people, time, energy or expertise to do the work that needs to be done now yet you do not want to add to staff. You may not need the expertise on a long term basis.

Neutral Perspective - Consultants bring a neutral perspective to organizational issues, helping them clarify, assess and resolve problems and situational issues.

Long Term Results - Enable companies to commit the resources necessary to create solutions for the long term benefit of the organizations, not band aids for the short term survival.

Confidentiality - When engaging in or considering major change, such as a merger or acquisition, relocation, restructuring or staffing, a third party provides confidentiality and an added perspective.

Commitment and Results – As consultants, we devote time and attention to your specific issues and needs, relieving employees and managers so they can focus on their own work.

Cost Containment - Utilizing consultants who on an as needed basis is more cost effective than hiring and terminating employees, providing employee training, benefits and ongoing salaries.

How much time will it take and how much will it cost?

The time commitment depends on the situation, the scope of the project, the participants, the clients deadlines and the size of the consulting team if the project requires a team.

Cost depends on the project as well as the specialty, skills and level of expertise of the consultant and the time frame and deadlines for the project. We typically charge by the hour; however, if the scope of the project can be clearly defined, we may propose a project cost.
